Memories Are Made of This
7-10 November 2007 : Gallery 53 Knightsbridge London
The opening night of Memories Are Made of This was a great success with clients able to meet the artist and get a further insight into the tremendous detail of the paintings. Following the success of this, Seran will be in the gallery from Wednesday 7th November to Saturday 10th November to talk about her work and the research involved including the forensic investigations, the association with memory, colour interactions and the link to neuroscience.
About the Artist
Seran Kubisa graduated from Bath Academy of Art studying painting at Bath and at Cooper Union, New York, U.S.A. After finishing as a Post-Graduate in Cyprus she returned to England where her work has been influenced by concepts in science and colour. Astronomy and deep space informed her work in the 90's and was followed by winning a Leverhulme Trust Award at the University of Southampton that enabled her to explore and incorporate Neuroscience experiments and research into her own practice.
Currently Seran has won an Arts+ Development Award and an Arts+ Final Award 07 for innovation from the Arts Council and SEEDA. This will produce a third series of scince technology based work entitled "Treasure Island: A Forensic investigation of a City" which will encompass city wide projections and public light sculptures.
