Education Specialist
Seran pioneered Art/Science workshops in London 2001 ('Art of Science' - The Times), and has set up educational projects collaborating with scientists, choreographers, musicians, writers and film. She has lectured on Arts foundation, Fine Art Degree, and has created an innovative approach to learning on the Artspace Portsmouth education programme. In 2002 Seran lectured at Winchester School of Art on the theme of Art and Science.
Seran uses her current practise and research as a basis to instigate the educational component. Her quality in her teaching and lecturing comes from an informative relationship to practise with an innovative and passionate approach. Collaborations in the arts and science have been a great component to all educational projects.
In 2005 the Arts Council experienced Serans Innovative Life Drawing Techniques as part of their Conference - this with very positive feed back.
As a director of Qubit Arts, (Visual Arts and choerograpy company) since 1999. Seran's Collaboration with dancer Keren Ben-Dor has produced some rich and creatively experimental experiences. Working together they have facilitated workshops for schools, children and families. Colour projections, installations, movement and visual arts are all explored in an experimental and innovative manner.
Seran has taught and devised her own colour theory for all levels of ability including residential workshops in Colour, Fine Art and Drawing at La Besnardiere in France have been attended by artists and new students.
A southern arts award in 1996 provided the space for a collaborative project 'Oscillations' to take place at Quay Arts Centre where Seran worked with a musician, writer and dancer/choreographer reinterpreting Serans exhibition 'Champagne supernova's a public performance, (five poems were written inspired by Serans work). This also sparked off a year long education project with studio visits leading to an exhibition 'Echo' at Quay Arts, of students work by advanced GNVQ students.
